- Mix the skim milk powder and sugar together in a saucepan and add 100 ml of water
- Stir constantly while bringing to the boil
- Add butter and remaining water, cool to lukewarm then add crumbled yeast
- Sift flour and salt together then add the sultanas
- Add the milk mixture and mix well into a soft dough. You may need to add more water
- Knead well for 10 minutes

- Place in a greased bowl, cover with plastic and stand in a warm place for 10 minutes
- Divide into 16 even pieces in the shape of buns
- Place on greased oven trays and allow to sit in a warm place until they double in size
- Bake in a moderate oven, 200c - 230c for 15 to 20 minutes
- Glaze immediately with gelatine and sugar dissolved in the hot water and pipe on icing cross
