Ingredients

- 3 cups Plain Flour
- one and a half teaspoons Baking Powder
- 175g Butter or Margarine
- one and a half cups Brown Sugar

- 1 teaspoon Vanilla Essence
- 1 Egg
- half cup each of finely chopped Dates, chopped Cherries and chopped Raisins

You will need
A mixing bowl, a sifter, beater, wooden spoon, cling wrap or waxed paper and a biscuit slide.

Directions

- Sift Flour and Baking Powder together
- Cream Butter, Sugar and Vanilla
- Beat egg and add to creamed mixture
- Add Flour and mix well
- Divide the mixture into four equal parts
- Kneed Dates into one section
- Kneed Cherries into one section
- Kneed Raisins into one section

- Leave one section plain
- Make sections into individual rolls about one and a half inches in diameter and wrap in Cling Wrap or Waxed Paper
- Chill in refrigerator until quite firm
- Slice thinly and place on a greased slide
- Bake at 150c - 170c for 10 to 15 minutes
