Recipe for

Refrigerator Biscuits

Ingredients
  • 3 cups Plain Flour
  • one and a half teaspoons Baking Powder
  • 175g Butter or Margarine
  • one and a half cups Brown Sugar

  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Essence
  • 1 Egg
  • half cup each of finely chopped Dates, chopped Cherries and chopped Raisins
 

You will need
A mixing bowl, a sifter, beater, wooden spoon, cling wrap or waxed paper and a biscuit slide.

 

Directions

  • Sift Flour and Baking Powder together
  • Cream Butter, Sugar and Vanilla
  • Beat egg and add to creamed mixture
  • Add Flour and mix well
  • Divide the mixture into four equal parts
  • Kneed Dates into one section
  • Kneed Cherries into one section
  • Kneed Raisins into one section

  • Leave one section plain
  • Make sections into individual rolls about one and a half inches in diameter and wrap in Cling Wrap or Waxed Paper
  • Chill in refrigerator until quite firm
  • Slice thinly and place on a greased slide
  • Bake at 150c - 170c for 10 to 15 minutes
