Recipe for
Curried Mince Steak

Ingredients
  • 30g Butter
  • 750g Minced Steak
  • 1 large Onion
  • 1 Green Apple
  • 1 small red or green Capsicum
  • 2 tablespoons Sweet Mango Chutney

  • Salt and Pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon Curry Powder
  • 1 tablespoon Lemon Juice
  • 1 packet dry Vegetable Soup
  • 600 ml Water
 

You will need
A good sized frying pan, a sharp knife and cutting board, a mixing bowl, a wooden spoon and loads of fluffy white rice

 

Directions

  • Peel and rough chop onion and apple
  • Seed and rough chop capsicum
  • Heat butter in a frying pan and add onion, apple and capsicum
  • when partly cooked add the mince and stir until the meat changes colour then reduce the heat
  • Blend the chutney, curry and lemon juice with a little of the water and add to the meat and veggies in the pan

  • Simmer gently to merge the flavours
  • Add remaining water and soup and bring to the boil
  • Reduce the heat and simmer for 20 to 25 minutes until the ingredients are tender and the liquid is reduced
  • Serve on a bed of fluffy white rice
